Rowing: Indian men's four settle for bronze

Indian rowers Jaswinder Singh, Bheem Singh, Punit Kumar and Ashish claimed the bronze medal in the men's four final A at the Asian Games 2023. They finished with a time of 6:10.81, clocking 5.85 seconds behind the gold-winning Uzbekistan team.

While the Indian team was fourth after 1000m, they raced past the Japanese team to take the final podium spot, finishing only 0.77 seconds behind silver medallists China.

Shooting: Men's 10m air rifle team bags India's first Asian Games 2023 gold

Shooters Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, Rudrankksh Patil and Divyansh Singh Panwar scored a world record 1893.7 in the men's 10m air rifle event to win India's first gold medal at the Asian Games 2023.

India were in a race with the Republic of Korea and China, who settled for silver and bronze, respectively, for the top spot at the podium.

The gold medal is India's sixth medal of Hangzhou 2023, following the five on Sunday.

All three Indian shooters also qualified for the men's 10m air rifle individual final after qualifying in the top eight. It will begin today at 9:00 AM IST.

Rowing: Balraj Panwar finishes fourth in men's single sculls

Indian rower Balraj Panwar settled for fourth position in the men's single sculls final A at the Asian Games 2023.

Panwar, who was fourth at the 500m mark, had surged into a bronze medal position by the 1500m mark. However, Hong Kong China's Chiu Hin Chun pipped him before the finish line. The Indian rower finished 11.73 seconds behind gold medallist Zhang Liang from China. Japan's Ryuta Arakawa bagged the silver medal.

India will compete in three more rowing finals today.

Tennis: Ankita Raina, Rohan Bopanna set to feature

Rohan Bopanna, who bagged the men's doubles gold medal at the 2018 Asian Games, will take the court today alongside Yuki Bhambri. The 43-year-old Indian tennis player will also partner with Rutuja Bhosale in mixed doubles at Hangzhou 2023.

Meanwhile, India's highest-ranked women's tennis player Ankita Raina in women's singles today against Kazakhstan's Sabrina Olimjonova. Raina had settled for a bronze medal at the 2018 Asian Games.

Tennis action begins today at 7:30 AM IST.

Silver medals: Three medals - Women's 10m air rifle team (shooting), men's lightweight doubles sculls (rowing), men's eight (rowing).

Bronze medals: Two medals - Men's pair (rowing), Ramita (women's 10m air rifle shooting).

Shooting, rowing kick off the day

Shooters Rudrankksh Patil, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar and Divyansh Singh Panwar will contest in the men’s 10m air rifle qualification, individual final and team final, starting at 6:30 AM IST.

Anish, Vijayveer Sidhu and Adarsh Singh will also contest in the men’s 25m rapid fire pistol qualification phase 2 and individual final shooting events.

Rowing begins at 7:00 AM IST today with the men’s single sculls final A, followed by the men’s coxless four final A, men’s quadruple sculls final A and women’s coxed eight.

Swimming, tennis and gymnastics events, meanwhile, will kick off at 7:30 AM IST.
